چکیده

Cluster discovery techniques include a wide spectrum of exploratory approaches for identifying locations exhibiting elevated levels of disease, risk or danger. In fact, exploratory spatial data analysis and the development and application of spatial cluster detection techniques have grown significantly over the past twenty years (Murray and Estivill-Castro, 1998; Anselin, 1998; Murray, 2010; Wu and Grubesic, 2010) and are used extensively in public health, criminology, ecology and many related disciplines.

Assessment of uncertainty for coal quality-tonnage curves through minimum spatial cross-correlation simulation

Coal quality-tonnage curves are helpful tools in optimum mine planning and can be estimated using geostatistical simulation methods. In the presence of spatially cross-correlated variables, traditional co-simulation methods are impractical and time consuming. This paper investigates a factor simulation approach based on minimization of spatial cross-correlations with the objective of modeling s...

Nonparametric Spectral-Spatial Anomaly Detection

Due to abundant spectral information contained in the hyperspectral images, they are suitable data for anomalous targets detection. The use of spatial features in addition to spectral ones can improve the anomaly detection performance. An anomaly detector, called nonparametric spectral-spatial detector (NSSD), is proposed in this work which utilizes the benefits of spatial features and local st...

Geostatistical analysis of disease data: visualization and propagation of spatial uncertainty in cancer mortality risk using Poisson kriging and p-field simulation

BACKGROUND Smoothing methods have been developed to improve the reliability of risk cancer estimates from sparsely populated geographical entities. Filtering local details of the spatial variation of the risk leads however to the detection of larger clusters of low or high cancer risk while most spatial outliers are filtered out. Static maps of risk estimates and the associated prediction varia...

Border analysis for spatial clusters

BACKGROUND The spatial scan statistic is widely used by public health professionals in the detection of spatial clusters in inhomogeneous point process. The most popular version of the spatial scan statistic uses a circular-shaped scanning window. Several other variants, using other parametric or non-parametric shapes, are also available. However, none of them offer information about the uncert...

Modeling spatial distribution of Tehran air pollutants using geostatistical methods incorporate uncertainty maps

The estimation of pollution fields, especially in densely populated areas, is an important application in the field of environmental science due to the significant effects of air pollution on public health. In this paper, we investigate the spatial distribution of three air pollutants in Tehran’s atmosphere: carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and atmospheric particulate matters less ...
